Rollapaluza
Last Friday saw me take part in Rollapaluza for the second time.
For those that don't know what Rollapaluza is, two cyclists battle it out on a pair of custom rollers connected to a huge dial over a simulated 500m distance.
I was one of 38 men that took park. You have a few minutes warm up on the fixed gear bike and then you have to pedal as fast as you can until you hit 500m. My time was 25.13s. Average speed 44.8mph. Average cadence 180.9rpm. Peak power 807w. I was pleased that I wasn't the slowest and I was just over 2.5s faster than my time last year. It's really tough but good fun.
The fastest time of the evening was 21.01s by Danny Eckersley (the guy I raced against). The TriStore provided generous prizes for the best riders of the night. The two finalists had to cover a gruelling 1,000m. The winner of the male competition was also Danny Eckersley.
